Michael Shames' Banjos |
|
|
Epiphone began its' "Recording" series in 1925, and this is the Deluxe Art Model.
It is commonly called the Dragon banjo for obvious reasons. The peghead always displayed an inlay of a dragon.
Some early models also had a painted dragon on the resonator. The resonator designs had several versions.
This model features a sunburst design in wood marquetry. The serial number of 180 probably indicates a 1926 date.
